Becoming a Volunteer
We highly value our volunteers. Our services and programs would not be possible without the time and talents that they contribute to the agency. If you can spend a few hours a week helping others, please consider joining our volunteer team.
Please complete and submit this Volunteer Application via the email or postal mail address listed on the application. For additional information, contact Leslie Montgomery at lmontgomery@pghvis.org or 412-368-4400 ext. 2253.
The Volunteer Services Mission is to:
- help clients retain their independence and self-respect
- help staff provide the best possible services to our clients
- promote understanding of BVRS programs
- provide personal growth opportunities for volunteers
A volunteer who works with a direct service program should have a commitment to helping people with disabilities and have discretion when dealing with confidential materials.
An interview with our volunteer administrator provides prospective volunteers the chance to discuss service opportunities and their interests. Volunteers must pass all required state and federal clearance checks and must complete an orientation and training program before working with clients.
